Th GOD of cricket Sachin Tendulkar and former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly will lead their respective teams as they clash in a T20 match on Saturday, 6th March, 2010 at 4:30 PM Indian Time. The match named “Cricket Ka Mahayudh” will be played at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. It has also been termed as a SABM (Salil Ankola Benefit Match) and will be a T20 match. The gates will open at 2 PM and the toss would take place at 4:15 PM. The Match will be telecast on Star Cricket.

The teams look very strong and Dada’s team seem to a bit stronger than Sachin’s team at least on papers. But as you know in T20 nothing can be predicted. Here are the team lineups:

In Match 32 of the IPL T20 season 2, Adam Gilchrist won the toss and put Mumbai Indians to bat. Deccan Chargers could only reach 145/6 in 20 overs with the help of useful innings from Rohit Sharma (38 off 36 balls), Venugopal Rao (28 off 17 balls) and Adam Gilchrist (25 off 29 balls). It seemed to be an easy chase for the Mumbai Indians but it seemed that the Mumbai Indians batsmen had got habituated to the art of choking every time they took a start. Even a valuable half century by J P Duminy (52 off 48 balls) and Pinal Shah (29 off 19 balls) could not save them from a defeat as the whole Mumbai Indians lineup tumbled and could reach only 126/8 in 20 overs. The special feature of the innings is that Rohit Sharma took the second hat-trick of IPL T20 season 2 as he bagged the wickets of Abhishek Nayar, Harbhajan Singh and J P Duminy in consecutive deliveries. After the hat-trick he also took another wicket leaving only one ball in between. The best bowling figures for Deccan Chargers were of Rohit Sharma, R P Singh and Tirumalsetti Suman with figures of 4/6, 2/19 and 2/14 respectively. Rohit Sharma was awarded the Man of the Match for his valuable innings of 38 runs off 36 balls and his bowling spell of 4 wickets for 6 runs in 2 overs.

Royal Challengers were looking a revived side under new captain Anil Kumble as they took on Mumbai Indians in the 28th Match of the IPL T20 season 2. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and decided to bat. Most of the Mumbai batsmen faltered once again and they could only make 149/4 in 20 overs on a batsman friendly pitch. Sanath Jayasuriya and Dwayne Bravo top scored for the Mumbai Indians with scores of 52 off 43 balls and 50 off 40 balls respectively. IPL debutant Dillon du Preez bowled exceptionally well for the Royal Challengers taking 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs. Banglore Royals Challengers cruised to the target in 18.1 overs with the help of steady batting performance by Jacques Kallis’ (69 off 59 balls) and Robin Uthappa (66 off 42 balls) and also helped by pathetic bowling by the Mumbai Indians. Jacques Kallis was awarded the Man of the Match due to his steady batting and bowling performances.

With a very useful innings from J P Duminy (52 off 37 balls) after the foundation laid by Sachin Tendulkar (34 off 30 balls), Mumbai Indians reached 148/6 in 20 overs. Kolkata could not keep up with the required run rate when they came to bat and even a brilliant innings by Brad Hodge (73 off 60 balls) and Morne van Wyk (32 off 35 balls) could not save them as they ended up with only 139/6 in their 20 overs. Zaheer Khan was brilliant with the ball with bowling figures of 3 wickets for 31 runs. J P Duminy was awarded with the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 52 off 37 balls.
