Chennai Super Kings defeat Bangalore Royal Challengers in a thriller at Mumbai to confirm their berth in IPL 4 finals. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and put Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat. Virat Kohli scored 70 runs off 44 balls and was supported by Mayank Agarwal (34 runs off 33 balls) and Luke Pomersbach (29 runs off 18 balls) as they guided Bangalore to 175/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Chennai lost both their openers and it looked in the middle overs as if they were heading for a defeat. But Suresh Raina (73 runs off 50 balls) played a gem of an innings and was supported by Albie Morkel (28 runs off 10 balls), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29 runs off 19 balls) and Subramaniam Badrinath (34 runs off 32 balls) as they pulled out an incredible win as they reached 177/4 in 19.4 overs. Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets for RCB. Suresh Raina was awarded the Man of the Match for his amazing knock.

Chennai Super Kings thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 63 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur which has always been regarded as a sort of fortress for the RR team where they have been nearly impossible to beat all these years. Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne won the toss and put CSK to bat. Michael Hussey (46 runs off 30 balls) and Murali Vijay (53 runs off 40 balls) gave them a great start following by two more good knocks by Suresh Raina (43 runs off 27 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (41 runs off 19 balls) as CSK scored a massive 196/3 in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan Royals kept on losing wickets cheaply with the exception of Ajinkya Rahane (52 runs off 36 balls) as they got all out for just 133 runs in 19.3 overs. Doug Bollinger took 3 wickets while R Ashwin also took 2 wickets for the Super Kings. Suresh Raina also took 2 wickets in just 3 balls he bowled at the end of the match without giving away any runs. Murali Vijay was awarded the Man of the Match for his half century.

Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 21 runs at Chepauk today. Chennai captain Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. Michael Hussey (83 runs off 56 balls) who joined the CSK squad today played a gem of an innings and he was supported by Murali Vijay (31 off 21), Suresh Raina (29 off 16) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (22 off 16) as they reached 183/5 in 20 overs. Bangalore lost early wickets in reply and a valiant effort by AB De Villiers (65 runs off 44 balls) could not secure them a win as they finished 21 runs short at 164/7 in their 20 overs. Michael Hussey was awarded the Man of the Match for his excellent knock.

Kings XI Punjab pulled up an incredible win against defending champions Chennai Super Kings due to an awesome innings by Mumbai lad Paul Valthaty who scored 120 runs for KXIP in merely 63 balls. Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist won the toss and put CSK to bat. Chennai lost 2 wickets without any runs on the board but Murali Vijay (74 runs off 43 balls), Subramanium Badrinath (66 runs off 56 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (43 runs off 20 balls) recovered the team and helped CSK reach a huge total of 188/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Paul Valthaty almost won the game single-handed for Kings XI Punjab as they scored 193/4 with 5 ball to spare. He also became only the fourth Indian to score a century in the Indian Premier League and unanimously became the Man of the Match for the brilliant innings.
