Bangalore Royal Challengers thrashed Sahara Pune Warriors by 26 runs at Bangalore to score their third consecutive win. Pune Warriors captain Yuvraj Singh won the toss and put Bangalore to bat. Chris Gayle blazed off as he scored 49 runs off 26 balls and then Virat Kohli continued as he scored 67 runs off 42 balls. The other RCB batsmen also played aggressively as they amassed 181/5 in 20 overs. Alfonso Thomas and Rahul Sharma took 2 wickets each for the Pune Warriors. In reply, Jesse Ryder (51 off 34 balls) and Yuvraj Singh (41 runs off 23 balls) tried hard but the rest hardly contributed much as they ended up with only 155/5 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock.

Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 21 runs at Chepauk today. Chennai captain Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. Michael Hussey (83 runs off 56 balls) who joined the CSK squad today played a gem of an innings and he was supported by Murali Vijay (31 off 21), Suresh Raina (29 off 16) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (22 off 16) as they reached 183/5 in 20 overs. Bangalore lost early wickets in reply and a valiant effort by AB De Villiers (65 runs off 44 balls) could not secure them a win as they finished 21 runs short at 164/7 in their 20 overs. Michael Hussey was awarded the Man of the Match for his excellent knock.
The home ground of Deccan Chargers since IPL season 1 has been the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Hyderabad. They have even been the IPL champions during its second edition at South Africa. However, they had never won a single match in their Hyderabad home ground in all these years till this match. But they finally rose to the occasion and broke the jinx with their first win of IPL season 4 with a 33 run win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Deccan Chargers went off to a flyer and reached 175/5 in their 20 overs with rapid knocks by Bharat Chipli (61 runs off 35 balls), Sunny Sohal (38 runs off 37 balls) and their captain Kumar Sangakkara (36 runs off 25 balls). Zaheer Khan was the lone ranger in the Bangalore bowling as he took 3 wickets for 32 runs. In reply, Bangalore could never give a befitting reply and kept on losing wickets regularly against the fiery spells of the three DC seamers Dale Steyn (3 wickets for 24 runs), Ishant Sharma (1 wicket for 21 runs) and Manpreet Gony (3 wickets for 31 runs). Virat Kohli was the lone ranger in the Bangalore batting and scored 71 runs off 51 balls but they could only 142/9 in their 20 overs. Steyn was awarded the Man of the Match for his bowling.
Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets today. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat. Royal Challengers struggled to get any decent run rate through the first half of their innings and they could only reach a score of 140/4 in their 20 overs as Dilshan and AB De Villiers scored 59 runs and 38 runs respectively. Malinga and Pollard took two wickets each for the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai in return cruised along and reached 143/1 in 18.3 overs as Sachin Tendulkar (55 runs off 46 balls), Ambati Rayadu (63 runs off 50 balls) and Davy Jacobs (22 runs off 16 balls) scored at brisk pace. Sachin Tendulkar was awarded the Man of the Match.
