Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sahara Pune Warriors by 7 wickets at Navi Mumbai as they finalized their spot in the playoffs of IPL 4. KKR captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and put Pune Warriors to bat. None of the Sahara Pune Warriors batsmen scored big as KKR bowlers bowled well and restricted PW to only 118/7 in 20 overs. Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hassan and Lakshmipathy Balaji took 2 wickets each for KKR. In reply, Gautam Gambhir (54 runs n.o. off 46 balls) lead from the front and was supported by Yusuf Pathan (29 runs off 25 balls) and Manoj Tiwary (24 runs off 24 balls) as they cruised to 119/3 in 16.4 overs. Yusuf Pathan was awarded the Man of his Match for his all round performance including his 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs, knock of 29 runs off 25 balls and catch of Saurav Ganguly in the field.

Sourav Ganguly made his IPL 4 debut as Sahara Pune Warriors defeated Deccan Chargers by 6 wickets. Deccan Chargers captain Sangakkara won the toss and decided to bat. None of the DC batsmen scored big as they ended up with 136/8 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh took 4 wickets for the Pune Warriors while PW captain Yuvraj Singh scalped a couple of wickets. In reply, Manish Pandey (49 runs off 42 balls), Jesse Ryder (35 runs off 20 balls) and Sourav Ganguly (32 runs off 32 balls) scored steadily as Sahara Pune Warriors scored 137/4 in 18.2 overs. Daniel Christian took 2 wickets for Deccan Chargers. Mitchell Marsh was awarded the Man of the Match for his four wickets.

Sahara Pune Warriors finally halted their losing streak of 7 consecutive matches as they defeated Kings XI Punjab who instead continued with their 5th consecutive loss. King XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and decided to bat first. KXIP kept on losing wickets and failed to build partnerships and ended up with only 119/8 in 20 overs. Wayne Parnell, Rahul Sharma, Mitchell Marsh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets each for the Pune Warriors. In reply, Sahara Pune Warriors scored 120/5 in 17.1 overs including a blistering 35 runs off 15 balls. Shalabh Srivastava took 2 wickets for KXIP. Rahul Sharma was awarded the Man of the Match for his yet another amazing spell of 2 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs where he scalped both the openers Gilchrist and Valthaty.

Bangalore Royal Challengers thrashed Sahara Pune Warriors by 26 runs at Bangalore to score their third consecutive win. Pune Warriors captain Yuvraj Singh won the toss and put Bangalore to bat. Chris Gayle blazed off as he scored 49 runs off 26 balls and then Virat Kohli continued as he scored 67 runs off 42 balls. The other RCB batsmen also played aggressively as they amassed 181/5 in 20 overs. Alfonso Thomas and Rahul Sharma took 2 wickets each for the Pune Warriors. In reply, Jesse Ryder (51 off 34 balls) and Yuvraj Singh (41 runs off 23 balls) tried hard but the rest hardly contributed much as they ended up with only 155/5 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock.
