All the 10 teams participating in IPL 2011 Season 4 including the two new entrants Sahara Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers Kerala have announced their final list of players in their respective teams. Out of the teams, Sahara Pune Warriors is the only team to have registered their full quota of 30 players in the squad. The schedule for IPL 4 has been revised taking into account the upcoming assembly elections in the five Indian states of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. Three out of the five states have an IPL team associated to one of their cities. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has its base in the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata. Kings XI Punjab defeated Kochi Tuskers Kerala by 6 wickets in a high scoring encounter. Kings XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and put KTK to bat. Mahela Jayawardene played a captain’s knock as he scored 76 runs off 52 balls and guided his team to 178/7 in 20 overs. Bipul Sharma took 2 wickets for KXIP. In reply, Dinesh Karthik (69 runs off 33 balls) and Shaun Marsh (42 runs off 30 balls) scored big as King XI Punjab reached 181/4 in 18.5 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets at their fortress Jaipur as they nearly eliminated RR chances of making it the playoffs of IPL 4. Virat Kohli won the toss as he led the RCB team in the absence of Vettori due to injury and put RR to bat. Rahul Dravid (37 runs off 31 balls) and Shane Watson (34 runs off 29 balls) gave them a steady opening stand but the other failed to capitalized on the start as they were restricted by RCB bowlers to only 146/6 in 20 overs. Kings XI Punjab pulled up a huge upset over Mumbai Indians as they thrashed MI by 76 runs at Mohali. Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put KXIP to bat. Shaun Marsh (43 runs off 34 balls), Dinesh Karthik (31 runs off 24 balls) and Adam Gilchrist (28 runs off 28 balls) contributed as KXIP ended up with 163/8 in 20 overs. However, only the top 4 scored and rest all faltered as the second half of their innings was terrible. Munaf Patel took 5 wickets for MI while Lasith Malinga took 2 wickets.
