Chennai Super Kings defeat Bangalore Royal Challengers in a thriller at Mumbai to confirm their berth in IPL 4 finals. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and put Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat. Virat Kohli scored 70 runs off 44 balls and was supported by Mayank Agarwal (34 runs off 33 balls) and Luke Pomersbach (29 runs off 18 balls) as they guided Bangalore to 175/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Chennai lost both their openers and it looked in the middle overs as if they were heading for a defeat. But Suresh Raina (73 runs off 50 balls) played a gem of an innings and was supported by Albie Morkel (28 runs off 10 balls), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29 runs off 19 balls) and Subramaniam Badrinath (34 runs off 32 balls) as they pulled out an incredible win as they reached 177/4 in 19.4 overs. Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets for RCB. Suresh Raina was awarded the Man of the Match for his amazing knock.

Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets with 8 balls remaining as they posted their fourth consecutive win. RR captain Warne won the toss and decided to bat. Rajasthan Royals made a great start as they scored 86 runs in the first 10 overs without losing even a single wicket. But after the openers Rahul Dravid (66 runs off 51 balls) and Shane Watson (32 runs off 26 balls) departed, the rest of the batsmen failed to capitalize on the start and RR kept on losing wickets cheaply as they ended up with just 147/6 in their 20 overs. Albie Morkel and Shadab Jakati took 2 wickets each for CSK. In reply, Michael Hussey (79 runs off 55 balls) and Suresh Raina (61 runs off 51 balls) blasted off as they helped CSK cruise to 149/2 in 18.4 overs. Chennai Super Kings defeated Deccan Chargers by 19 runs. CSK captain Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. Suresh Raina (59 runs off 35 balls) and Michael Hussey (46 runs off 41 balls) played useful knocks as CSK reached 165/5 in 20 overs. Pragyan Ojha shined with the ball for Deccan Chargers as he took 3 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs. Matthew Hayden (60 off 38 balls) put Chennai Super Kings to a blazing start and they were looking good for a 160+ score but then the whole Chennai batsmen crumbled suddenly as they were bowled out for 129 runs in 19.4 overs. Anil Kumble, Jacques Kallis and Vinay Kumar took two wickets each for the challengers. Bangalore Royal Challengers also lost wickets at regular intervals when they came to bat Ross Taylor (46 off 50 balls) and Virat Kohli (38 off 35 balls) played useful innings as Bangalore somehow manged to score 132/8 in 19.4 overs. Albie Morkel and Jacob Oram took two wickets each for the Chennai Super Kings. Ross Taylor was awarded the Man of the Match for his useful innings in the run chase.
