Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs at Chepauk, Chennai. CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a blistering knock of 63 runs not out off 31 balls and he was supported by Subramanium Badrinath who scored 55 runs off 43 balls as CSK posted 176/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi Daredevils kept on losing wickets and Irfan Pathan was the lone ranger as he scored 44 not out off 34 balls as DD ended up at 158/6 in 20 overs. R Ashwin and Dwayne Bravo scalped 2 wickets apiece for CSK. Chennai skipper Dhoni was awarded the Man of the Match for his blistering knock.

Kings XI Punjab pulled up a huge upset over Mumbai Indians as they thrashed MI by 76 runs at Mohali. Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put KXIP to bat. Shaun Marsh (43 runs off 34 balls), Dinesh Karthik (31 runs off 24 balls) and Adam Gilchrist (28 runs off 28 balls) contributed as KXIP ended up with 163/8 in 20 overs. Sahara Pune Warriors finally halted their losing streak of 7 consecutive matches as they defeated Kings XI Punjab who instead continued with their 5th consecutive loss. King XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and decided to bat first. KXIP kept on losing wickets and failed to build partnerships and ended up with only 119/8 in 20 overs. Wayne Parnell, Rahul Sharma, Mitchell Marsh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets each for the Pune Warriors. In reply, Sahara Pune Warriors scored 120/5 in 17.1 overs including a blistering 35 runs off 15 balls. Shalabh Srivastava took 2 wickets for KXIP. Royal Challengers Bangalore demolished Kochi Tuskers Kerala by 9 wickets with a massive 41 balls remaining. KTK captain Mahela Jayawardena won the toss and decided to bat. After a good start, KTK soon lost wickets and lost their way infront of a disciplined RCB bowling and fielding and ended up with only 125/9 in 20 overs. Daniel Vettori and S Aravind took 2 wickets for the RCB. In reply, Chris Gayle blazed off today too as he scored 44 runs in only 20 balls including a 47 runs off a single over of Prasanth Parameswaran and Tillakaratne Dilshan also scored 52 runs off 31 balls as RCB reached 128/1 in only 13.1 overs.
