Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs at Chepauk, Chennai. CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a blistering knock of 63 runs not out off 31 balls and he was supported by Subramanium Badrinath who scored 55 runs off 43 balls as CSK posted 176/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi Daredevils kept on losing wickets and Irfan Pathan was the lone ranger as he scored 44 not out off 34 balls as DD ended up at 158/6 in 20 overs. R Ashwin and Dwayne Bravo scalped 2 wickets apiece for CSK. Chennai skipper Dhoni was awarded the Man of the Match for his blistering knock.

Chennai Super Kings thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 63 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur which has always been regarded as a sort of fortress for the RR team where they have been nearly impossible to beat all these years. Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne won the toss and put CSK to bat. Michael Hussey (46 runs off 30 balls) and Murali Vijay (53 runs off 40 balls) gave them a great start following by two more good knocks by Suresh Raina (43 runs off 27 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (41 runs off 19 balls) as CSK scored a massive 196/3 in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan Royals kept on losing wickets cheaply with the exception of Ajinkya Rahane (52 runs off 36 balls) as they got all out for just 133 runs in 19.3 overs. Doug Bollinger took 3 wickets while R Ashwin also took 2 wickets for the Super Kings. Suresh Raina also took 2 wickets in just 3 balls he bowled at the end of the match without giving away any runs. Murali Vijay was awarded the Man of the Match for his half century.

Chennai Super Kings thrashed Pune Warriors at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on April 25, 2011. Sahara Pune Warriors captain Yuvraj Singh won the toss and put Chennai Super Kings to bat. Michael Hussey scored a brilliant 61 runs off 48 balls as CSK posted a modest total of 142/6 in their 20 overs. Jerome Taylor took 3 wickets for Pune Warriors while Alfonso Thomas scalped 2 wickets. In reply, Sahara Pune Warriors never got a stand as they kept losing wickets continuously and could only score 117/9 in 20 overs. Albie Morkel took 3 wickets while Doug Bollinger and R Aswhin took 2 wickets each for CSK. Michael Hussey was awarded the Man of the Match for his useful knock.

Chennai Super Kings beat Kings XI Punjab by 24 run in Match 54 of IPL T20 season 2 virtually eliminating them from the semi finals. Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat. All the Chennai Super Kings batsmen struggled with the bat and could only score 116/9 in 20 overs. It looked like an easy target for Kings XI Punjab but they lost wickets at regular intervals as pressure was applied by Dhoni and ended at only 92/8 in 20 overs. Muttiah Muralidaran, Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina had the best bowling figures for the Chennai Super Kings with figures of 2/8, 2/13 and 2/17 respectively. Muttiah Muralidaran was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance.
