Mumbai Indians pulled off a dramatic last ball win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the last league match of IPL 4. Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put KKR to bat. Jacques Kallis (59 runs off 42 balls), Yusuf Pathan (36 runs off 27 balls) and Manoj Tiwary (35 runs off 22 balls) contributed as KKR scored 175/7 in 20 overs. James Franklin and Abu Nechim Ahmed took 2 wickets each for the Mumbai Indians. In reply, Mumbai Indians kept on losing wickets and they seemed to be in a losing position as they required 44 runs in 3 overs and then 21 runs in the last over. But they took advantage of both overs of Balaji as they smashed him for 37 runs in his two overs (over no. 18 and over no. 20) and finished off the win with a last ball six by Ambati Rayudu to guide MI to 178/5 in 20 overs. James Franklin was the unlikely hero as he scored 45 runs off 23 balls and was ably supported by Ambati Rayudu (17 runs off 6 balls). Rajat Bhatia took 3 wickets for KKR. James Franklin was awarded the Man of the Match for his match winning knock of 45 runs in 23 balls and his 2 wickets for 35 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sahara Pune Warriors by 7 wickets at Navi Mumbai as they finalized their spot in the playoffs of IPL 4. KKR captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and put Pune Warriors to bat. None of the Sahara Pune Warriors batsmen scored big as KKR bowlers bowled well and restricted PW to only 118/7 in 20 overs. Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hassan and Lakshmipathy Balaji took 2 wickets each for KKR. In reply, Gautam Gambhir (54 runs n.o. off 46 balls) lead from the front and was supported by Yusuf Pathan (29 runs off 25 balls) and Manoj Tiwary (24 runs off 24 balls) as they cruised to 119/3 in 16.4 overs. Yusuf Pathan was awarded the Man of his Match for his all round performance including his 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs, knock of 29 runs off 25 balls and catch of Saurav Ganguly in the field.

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a rain curtailed match at Bangalore. Virat Kohli won the toss as the skipper of RCB and put KKR to bat. KKR top order failed yet again and as Yusuf Pathan (36 runs off 24 balls) was starting to strike boundaries rain came and stopped play. After resumption of match KKR scored 89/4 in 13 overs. Charl Langeveldt took 2 wickets for RCB and the revised target for RCB was 102 runs from 13 overs as per D/L method. In reply, Chris Gayle (68 runs off 12 balls) blasted off yet again as RCB cruised to 105/6 in 12.3 overs. Jacques Kallis took 2 wickets for KKR. Chris Gayle was awarded the Man of the Match again for his blistering knock.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Deccan Chargers by 20 runs to again replace Mumbai Indians at the top of the points table as of now. Deccan Chargers captain Sangakkara won the toss and put Kolkata Knight Riders to bat. Yusuf Pathan (47 runs off 26 balls), Gautam Gambhir (35 runs off 22 balls), Manoj Tiwary (33 runs off 28 balls) and Jacques Kallis (30 runs off 31 balls) contributed as KKR reached 169/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Shikhar Dhawan (54 runs off 45 balls) and Ravi Teja (30 runs off 22 balls) gave some resistance but they could only score 149/6 in 20 overs. Iqbal Abdulla and Rajat Bhatia took 2 wickets each for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Yusuf Pathan was awarded the Man of the Match for his blazing knock and economical 3 overs during bowling.
