WOMEN IPL : This year, the IPL will be identical to the men’s version, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The planning has begun, and the board has requested that the men’s sponsors also take ownership of the women’s teams.
As over 30 businesses compete to hold a franchise for the inaugural Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL) season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) anticipates a large financial gain. All ten of the current IPL clubs and other interested businesses will compete for ownership of the five teams in the WIPL. Haldiram, Infosys, Shriram Group, Manchester United, Adanis, and the current IPL franchise owners are notable competitors.
According to the BCCI release, the women’s Indian premier league will have a relatively straightforward format in 2023. Each team will play two games against the other three teams. Additionally, the first season of the WIPL 2023 will have 20 matches. The final game will feature the team with the most points on the WIPL Table 2023, while the elimination game will feature the second and third teams. The winner of the elimination game advances to the final two.
